during nanette’s last sample sale I picked up a few pieces for myself, and one specifically for my mom. one
of the dresses i picked for myself was an older oognah style – a black sleeveless maxi that had a twisted
neckline so a cutout was formed under the neckline. the dress i picked for my mom was simple and black,
similar in style to one she liked two years ago but didn’t get. her dress had cap sleeves and a lower, but age
appropriate neckline.
as a fashion student living in new york, nanette’s collections are perfect for everyday. for a small business
owner in a rural town, like my mom, they match the line between professional and fun. there aren’t many
designers who make clothing appropriate for daughter and mother, but nanette has defined herself as one
of the few. it’s something that myself, and my mom, can truly appreciate.
